Lexi had her first track meet last night.  For some reason, she didn't know a "meet" was a "race".  She thought it was just a meeting.  When I told her she needed to get ready for her race, she got so nervous!  She got so sick, she almost threw up.  I guess she was embarassed because she always came in last during practice.  She never told us, so we didn't get a change to work with her.  I talked to her and told her it was ok to be nervous and that I get nervous, too.  I was afraid we weren't going to make it.  Finally, she felt better and was able to eat dinner.

Her coaches told her she was doing the 400m (one lap around the field), but when she was up to race, it was 800m!  I thought for sure that was not going to be good.  I have to say, I am so proud of her!  She started out last, but quickly passed a few kids.  She made her 2 laps without stopping.  I don't know what place she got, but there were 5 kids behind her at the finish.  She did her 2 laps in 4 minutes, 11 seconds.  She has 2 more meets and now we can help her feel more confident!

And they're off!

Joe is cheering her on.  She almost got too distracted!

The finish!!!

Pikes Peak BMX Track

On Saturday, we took the kids to the BMX track to ride their bikes.  It isn't really Lexi's thing, but Chris loves it!
The track...

Chris wiped out.  I didn't get a picture of it, but here is the after-math.  He doesn't look happy, but I think he was proud of it :)

 Feet time!

I love this serious, chubby face!

I started Danny on solids a couple of weeks ago.  He still seemed hungry after nursing and he watched us like a hawk while we were eating.  He picked it up quite fast.

We started with rice cereal.  He didn't really like that.  I guess it was too bland :)  Then, I mixed the rice cereal with carrots.  He did pretty well.  He likes to suck the food off the spoon.  His current favorite is sweet potatoes.  I gave him applesauce at a restaurant and the was crazy about that, too!

He won't nurse unless we are at home and he is wrapped up to go to bed.  He gets distracted so easily.  I needed something to give him if we were going to be out fo awhile.  The only thing I am not liking is the stinky solid food diapers!

Here is another picture I like that doesn't fit anywhere else.

Here are our Easter pictures.  I think we got some good ones!

Easter Eggs

We dyed easter eggs this year.  The kids had fun with it :)
The 3 eggs I got to color...

Danny 4 Months

Danny was not happy taking his 4 month pictures!  He went to the doctor and is 13.3 lbs. and 26 in. long.  He is in the 15th percentile for weight, but the 85th percentile for height!

Spring Break - Day 3

We woke up to a chilly, windy morning.  I decided Danny and I were not going to get in the water.  He was already so exhausted from the trip, not getting regular naps.  We had cinnamon rolls in our room and then Joe and the kids went swimming.  I got everything packed up for our trip home while Danny napped.
 Tired kids!

The view of the mountains from our room.

Our "I love you" sign :)
We were able to tour a cabin to see what we thought of them.  We are hosting Thanksgiving this year and we are renting 2 cabins at the hot springs.  We were impressed!  We can't wait to go back in November!

After we checked out of our room, we headed back to Buena Vista for brunch.  We ate at restaurant that had been recommended by several friends, Rooster's Crow Cafe.  I have to say, we were impressed!  I was amazed at how many great restaurants this little town had!  After brunch, Joe took the kids for a last hike while I tried to feed Danny in the car.  He wasn't having it!  I was hoping he would eat good before our 2 hour trip home.  Luckily, he passed out as we were leaving town and didn't wake up again until we got to the Springs.  Lexi and Chris napped, as well.

Here are some pictures Joe took.

We had a great trip!!!
